Desperate for a drink, Joanne-Marie stops a local (who happened to be dressed in a similar outfit) and asks for help. Being known for being incredibly friendly and helpful, this local, as she was to learn later on, by the name of Xiao Kui, gladly took her to one of the best bubble tea joints in Taipei; Ten Ren Ming Cha. The fragrance of freshly brewed tea fills the surrounding air, and despite the hustle and bustle of the night life in Ximending, one can experience a minute or two of calm while waiting for the order to be ready.

After 50 years of business, it still stands strong, no doubt exuding a different vibe from the others. It was an eye-opener for Joanne-Marie, and its old-school charm didn't fail to leave a lasting impression. Especially the snakes.
