Ep 3: Leofoo Village Theme Park in HsinChu
After travelling about 3 hours down south from Ximending in the rain, our host Joanne-Marie finally arrives at Leofoo Village Theme Park in HsinChu County. Fortunately the rain had lightened and the activities were ready and revving to commence!
Leofoo Village Theme Park features three roller coasters, including an inverted shuttle coaster (Screaming Condor), an Intamin twist-and-turn coaster dubbed Sahara Twist, as well as a Vekoma Roller Skater in the Wild West section of the park, aptly named "Little Rattler". There are also various shows that go on in relevance to the themed area that it is in. The first stop was the Tribal Flight Bird Show where the hosts and feathered friends put up an awesome, high-energy performance that educated and entertained.
The Arabian Kingdom is an adventure–magical themed area, where Joanne-Marie was to meet her doom. It features attractions such as the Ring of Fire, spinning riders on the inside of a large metal circle in continuous loops. This seemingly harmless ride had Joanne-Marie on the verge of tears, and for someone who claims to be fearless, that IS one helluva ride. If you were looking for something more tame, the top attraction with families in this area is the Flying Horse ride, a dark ride–monorail. If you are a fan of whizzing around in darkness, you may consider the other dark ride, Sultan's Adventure, a high-speed jeep ride which is very similar to the Indiana Jones Adventure in Disneyland.
Of course there's also the gently rocking camel (on the left) that plays Arabian music. Generally, Leofoo Village Theme Park is a great place to visit and spend a day at. Also, if you've always wanted to visit Disneyland, but never quite had the chance, this place is certainly a good alternative!
